Before the sun came up on Saturday, July 15th Cathy and I headed to Alameda to move the boat to her new home in the San Francisco bay. We got some fuel and put it in, put the bimini on, and headed out to the Brisbane Marina, Cathy by land, Dean by sea.
Not much traffic in the estuary, no big ships coming or going from the docks.
The trip across the bay was smooth, hardly any wind at all at noon on Saturday, so I motored all the way. I put up the jib for a few minutes, but then the wind died down and I put it away.
At this point the water was pretty smooth
A small bat ray was simming by, I also saw a seal, and there were a few big ships parked in the bay that I had to slalom around.
When I was coming into the dock, Cathy sends me a text saying “You can’t go to our slip! It’s got something big and gross there! You need to go to the guest dock…” So, here’s the boat at the desk dock.
Here’s the picture of what the Marina called “The swimming pool”. Since we didn’t want to share our slip with this “life form” we decided to move to another slip, just a little ways away.
Here’s the sunset on Saturday night from the new slip.
Here’s a picture I took of the marina from the shoreline at about 5:30am on Sunday morning
So here’s a picture of Duet at her new home. Still plenty of work to do, but she’s HOME!
